Philip Giraldi : Christian Zionism’s political significance in United States

Philip Giraldi speaking at the National Press Club, in Washington, DC, on  January 30, 2013, focuses on Christian Zionism’s end-time theology interworking with Israeli politics and their influence in American domestic and International politics.  A subject he observes not much discussed in Washington, that needs to be talked about more.

Philip Giraldi is director at the Council for the National Interest.  He is a recognized authority on international security and counterterrorism issues. He is a former CIA counter-terrorism specialist and military intelligence officer who served eighteen years overseas in Turkey, Italy, Germany, and Spain. He was Chief of Base in Barcelona from 1989 to 1992 designated as the Agency’s senior officer for Olympic Games support.

He emphasized the political significance of Christian Zionists in the United States, their involvement in and growing influence over American domestic politics and some aspects of American foreign policy, through major movements such as CUFI, two million strong (Christians United For Israel) members, headed by pastor John Hagee, a potent political force.

He explains how their mechanism actually works by pointing to an example as recent as last Monday, when 200 CUFI (Christians United for Israel) leaders were flown to Washington, all expenses paid, to lobby their senators against the confirmation of Chuck Hagel as US Secretary of Defense ( @4 from each State so they could lobby every senator). He added, Hagel has been criticized by the evangelicals as being less than completely supportive of Israel and hesitant to go to war against Iran for Israel.

The bottom line, Giraldi stresses: Christian Zionism’s involvement in American politics on behalf of the U.S. relations with Israel, does not serve any conceivable national interests, unless one assumes Israel and the U.S. are essentially the same, which is unsustainable. On the contrary, he observes, it serves a particularly narrowly construed parochial interest, that ironically is intended to bring about the end of the world, possibly a victory for pastor John Hagee, if his interpretation of the bible is correct, but quite likely a disaster for the rest of us.

Phil Giraldi, is joined on the panel by Jon Basil Utley, Norton Mezvinsky, and Fuad Shaban. For more information, see: http://www.veteransnewsnow.com/2013/01/29/christian-zionism-and-american-islamophobia-giraldi-utley-jan-30-in-dc/

This is a generally poor article and the responses show a lack of understanding as well.

MOST Christians are not rabid Zionists. Even most of those american christians who “support” Israel, simply understand the meaning of “support Israel” in a different manner than what the Israeli programmed media means.

Most Christians do NOT mean WAR, BOMBING, ATTACKS, fighting Bibi’s newest worst enemy, etc, when they say they ‘support’ Israel. They merely mean that they support a right of a state of Israel to exist, not that it can be a bully, attack others, or drag american into endless conflicts. ‘Christian’ means a lot of things depending on the region, denomination, individual, just as a Sufi, Shia, Sunni, Ahmaddiya, etc.. do not easily co-exist or share a common doctrine or purpose.

The people being flown into congress to ‘lobby’ against Hagel are puppets being flown in and PAID BY Jewish organizations. They are people who make their money (Hagee) almost primarily as Jewish lobby pawns and paid lackies, NOT general ‘Christian’ people or average Christian citizens.

The very fact that these paid lackies are being organized, paid for expense-wise, and directed by Jewish organizations as TOOLS to work against Hagel is evidence that FAR FROM Christians in general or in any large numbers self-organizing to act against Hagel, the people acting in this manner are in every instance doing so not as spontaneous Christians opposing Hagel due to his Israel stance, but as paid Israel lobby members and assets who are acting as paid puppets.

While MANY Christians would agree that it is right to ‘support’ the right of a state of Israel to exist, they do not in most cases confer absolute right for Israel to do as it pleases or to attack other states, or to infiltrate the US Govt to ensure its will is US policy.. that is simply the Israel Lobby asking a very general question in polling, (“Do you support Israel”) and then getting a “Yes” and insisting that this coveys ‘carte blanche’ for Israel to do anything they want at US taxpayer and military expense, when that is simply in no way true.

While there are some rabid Christians ‘Zionists’ in the general population esp in some specific states (Oklahoma, Missouri are two good examples) they are generally dying off quickly and not being replaced. These are almost INEVITABLY very eldery, obese, shut-ins in the vast majority of cases, and they are people who would be engaged in snake-handling, speaking in tongues, or some other sort of non-denominational “Revival” style practices (if they were ambulatory) not mainstream/mainline protestant or catholic christians in most cases.

The number of such “Christian” people for whom Zionism is in any way relevant to them drops off sharply when you get below a age range of 55 years old.. virtually no one below the age of 55 is going to in any way have a very strong reaction to Israel either negatively or positively. The people over the age of 55 who do have this belief are dying of old age and not being replaced because any children or grandchildren they have do not have the same life experiences or indoctrination and are not ill-disposed to Israel in most cases, but have almost no interest in Israel.

This is a long post, but it gives a more accurate and descriptive picture of reality than this article, suggesting that since a jewish created (CUFI) front-group few its puppets to washington d.c. that this is somehow a ‘christian’ action or related to christian concerns, instead of the reality that it was a group of Israel Lobby ‘employees’ who were paid to serve a particular purpose for their own personal rewards.

Well, even knowing of the problem of the Christian Zionist in the US, their beliefs, the support they give to an murderous regime occupying another country, now insitu for 66 years, the viewing of this video was something of a revelation.

The CUFI and their engineering of the visit by their leaders from every state to lobby AGAINST Chuck Hagel should be a clear indication that their Christian beliefs are like the total US, certanly Congress members and Senators, subservient to the objectives of Israel. The support they have given and still give to the Jews from all parts of Europe, has only just tapped the available marketplace for killers, conveniently called settlers. An ever-ready supply of frontline troops (killers) against women and children in Palestine. They are lining up in those countries, promised money, homes, immunity from major crime prosecution, hunting freedom ( a cynical comment) but it is the case, nonetheless.

Now that is real Christianity. They will support murder, apartheid, ethnic cleansing, year after year, to gain some form of mythological salvation, the very rational idea of which, to any educated person, is fantasy. Obviously a fantasy that people like Hagee and the CUFI use in their manipulationof the masses, the sheep happy to go along with the evil shepherd.

It is interesting to see the states where this CZ (Christian Zionist) following is the strongest. That is in itself, worthy of note. Suffice to say, the people in these states are exploitable and have been for fifty years. If it wasn’t one thing, that is before the rise of Zionism, it was something else. There have always been people like Hagee, self-styled Moses of the masses. It is almost laughable. One therefore cannot discriminate between Zionists, Jews, Christian Zionists, Neocons, fellow-travellers and sycophants. Until they are purged, such devious activities such as the attacks on decent people like Hagel, will continue.

They are all trying in their own way to bring the US down, one as bad as the next.
