US taxpayers paid more to Israeli defense budget than Israelis

The Israeli army’s chief of staff states that in the past three years, “US taxpayers have contributed more to the Israeli defense budget than Israeli taxpayers,” according to a report in the Jerusalem Post, a prominent Israeli newspaper.

by Alison Weir

According to the report, Lieutenant-General Gabi Ashkenazi made the statement during a Ashkenazispeech on September 11th. In it he emphasized: “We must preserve ties with the United States. I believe this is a security necessity.”

According to the newspaper the speech was at the Calcalist Conference, which appears to be an annual event in Tel Aviv sponsored by the Calcalist newspaper, an Israeli Hebrew-only daily financial newspaper. It is is part of the group that publishes Yedioth Ahronoth, the largest circulation newspaper in Israel.

American taxpayers give Israel over $3 billion per year (over $8 million per day), more than to any other nation, despite the fact that Israel is smaller than New Jersey and is in the top 30 richest countries in the world.

Per capita, Israelis receive $10,000 more U.S. tax money than average.

Some of the other top recipients of US tax money, Egypt and Jordan, were provided this assistance in return for diplomatic recognition of the Israeli state.

According to the Congressional Research Service, Israel is given this money in a lump sum at the beginning of the fiscal year. Americans then pay interest on money they have given to Israel, while Israel makes interest on it.

In recent years Israel has reported a lower unemployment rate than the US and a better account balance.

Ashkenazi’s statements are extremely significant, since this is the first time that an Israeli leader has pointed out that American taxpayers pay more to Israel’s defense budget than do Israelis.

If the costs of the Iraq war, which was largely pushed by Israel partisans in the Bush administration, were added into the equation, the American tax money on behalf of Israel would quite likely dwarf the amount paid by Israeli taxpayers.

Some top economists predict that the cost of the Iraq war will be $3 trillion.

Israel has a population of about 7 million people.

Today, Israel partisans are similarly pushing attacks on Iran.

Israel has frequently been accused of using American funds in violation of U.S. arms control laws.

Ashkenazi and War Crimes Accusations

IN 2010 Turkey issued an arrest warrant for Ashkenazi for Israeli forces’ killing of 9 civilians, including one who held American citizenship.

In 2008 a complaint was filed at the Hague accusing Ashkenazi of war crimes. Accusers stated:

On 27th December 2008, the suspect, Chief of Staff, ordered the Israeli army to attack densely populated areas in the Gaza Strip. For three weeks, 1,500 tons of bombs were dropped from the air on residential neighborhoods in Gaza and tens of thousands of artillery shells were fired from tanks. For 3 weeks, the army damaged and destroyed houses, schools, hospitals, infrastructure, water and electrical plants, killed more than 1,300 people, hundreds of them children, and injured about 5,300 people. Thousands of houses were bombed or shelled and 50,000 residents were made homeless, without shelter.

Prior to this, the suspect was part of a group, which implemented a siege on 1.5 million people in the Gaza Strip, denying them a regular supply of food, water, medicine, fuel and electricity for 18 months.

According to international law, it is absolutely prohibited to bomb residential areas in a way that interrupts the lives of civilians; to carry out executions without trial, to collectively punish; to destroy or damage hospitals, schools and homes. The prohibitions against collective punishment were enshrined in the Geneva Conventions after the behavior of the Nazis in Europe during World War II when they destroyed entire villages to punish residents for sheltering the resistance. 194 countries agree with the prohibitions of the Fourth Geneva Convention.

In December 2008, a complaint was filed in the Hague against the suspect, on suspicion that he had committed war crimes and crimes against humanity for ordering the siege of Gaza.

  1. Hell, $3 billion is chump-change next to the $13 TRILLION the jewish mob has extorted from US for its bailout of their financial mob or the $6 TRILLION we’ve spent fighting dirty wars for the jews.

    Israel isn’t a country, it’s a reptile sanctuary.

    • Mr. Harold Wallace Rosenthal, the Administrative Assistant to Senator Jacob K. Javits of New York, made these statements in a highly confidential interview to a high ranking Senator:

When questioned about the ways in which the Jews have gained power, Mr. Rosenthal said:

“Our power has been created through the manipulation of the national monetary system. We authored the quotation. ‘Money is power.’ As revealed in our master plan, it was essential for us to establish a private national bank. The Federal Reserve system fitted our plan nicely since it is owned by us, but the name implies that it is a government institution. From the very outset, our purpose was to confiscate all the gold and silver, replacing them with worthless non-redeemable paper notes. This we have done!”

When asked about the term ‘non-redeemable notes,’ Mr. Rosenthal replied:

“Prior to 1968, the gullible gentiles could take a one dollar Federal Reserve note into any bank in America and redeem it for a dollar which was by law a coin containing 412 1/2 grains of 90 per cent silver. Up until 1933, one could have redeemed the same note for a coin of 25 4/5ths grains of 90 per cent gold. All we do is give the goy more non-redeemable notes, or else copper slugs. But we never give them their gold and silver. Only more paper,” he said contemptuously. “We Jews have prospered through the paper gimmick. It’s our method through which we take money and give only paper in return.” (The economic problem of America and the world is ultimately a Jewish problem, or as Henry Ford stated: “The Money Question, properly solved, is the end of the Jewish Question and every other question of a mundane nature.”

Can you give me a example of this we asked?

“The examples are numerous, but a few readily apparent are the stocks and bonds market, all forms of insurance and the fractional reserve system practiced by the Federal Reserve corporation, not to mention the billions in gold and silver that we have gained in exchange for paper notes, stupidly called money. Money power was essential in carrying out our master plan of international conquest through propaganda.”

When asked how they proposed doing this, he said:

“At first, by controlling the banking system we were able to control corporation capital. Through this, we acquired total monopoly of the movie industry, the radio networks and the newly developing television media. The printing industry, newspapers, periodicals and technical journals had already fallen into our hands. The richest plum was later to come when we took over the publication of all school materials. Through these vehicles we could mold public opinion to suit our own purposes. The people are only stupid pigs that grunt and squeal the chants we give them, whether they be truth or lies.”

When asked if the Jews felt any threat from the ‘silent majority,’ he laughed at the idea, saying:

“There is no such thing as the silent majority because we control their cry and hue. The only thing that exists is an unthinking majority and unthinking they will remain, as long as their escape from our rigorous service is the opiate of our entertainment industry. By controlling industry, we have become the task masters and the people the slaves. When the pressure of daily toil builds to an explosive degree, we have provided the safety valve of momentary pleasure. The television and movie industries furnish the necessary temporary distraction. These programs are carefully designed to appeal to the sensuous emotions, never to the logical thinking mind. Because of this, the people are programmed to respond according to our dictates, not according to reason. Silent they never are; thinking they will remain.”

Continuing his thought of Jewish control over the gentiles, Mr. Rosenthal said:

“We have castrated society through fear and intimidation. Its manhood exists only in combination with a feminine outward appearance. Being so neutered, the populace has become docile and easily ruled. As all geldings in nature, their thoughts are not involved with the concerns of the future and their posterity, but only with the present toil and the next meal.”

  2. So tell me again why non-Jewish Americans should be concerned about Israel enough to go to war for them or pay for their defense budget, when it means we must borrow from China and elsewhere and sacrifice our own needs. The last time I checked only Jews were given the right to Israeli citizenship. Americans who are non-Jews are good enough to pay them billions but not good enough to be welcome as immigrants or citizens. This racist one street is a dead end for 99% of Americans. It is time to cut the umbilical cord.

    • True, American.Serf

Mr. Harold Wallace Rosenthal, the Administrative Assistant to Senator Jacob K. Javits of New York, made these statements in a highly confidential interview to a high ranking Senator.

Walter White who conducted this confidential interview said, it is indeed obvious that what he discloses is not fiction. It is not imagination! He was not pretending as he spoke with knowledge and intelligence. Many things have been said and written about the One World Jewish Conspiracy but never has it been described so openly. It staggers the imagination:

Harold Wallace Rosenthal said: “We Jews have put issue upon issue to the American people. Then we promote both sides of the issue as confusion reigns. With their eye’s fixed on the issues, they fail to see who is behind every scene. We Jews toy with the American public as a cat toys with a mouse.”.

Mr. Rosenthal, made this statement after admitting Jewish dominance in all significant national programs:

He said, “We Jews continue to be amazed with the ease by which Christian Americans have fallen into our hands. While the naive Americans wait for Khrushchev to bury them, we have taught them to submit to our every demand.” Asked how a nation could be captured without their knowing it, Mr. Rosenthal attributed this victory to absolute control of the media. He boasted of Jewish control of ALL NEWS. Any newspaper which refused to acquiesce to controlled news was brought to its knees by withdrawing advertising. Failing in this, the Jews stop the supply of news print and ink. “It’s a very simple matter,” he stated. Asked about men in high political office, Mr. Rosenthal said that no one in the last three decades has achieved any political power without Jewish approval. “Americans have not had a presidential choice since 1932. Roosevelt was our man; every president since Roosevelt has been our man.”.

Millions of tax-exempt American dollars are sent to Israel yearly and we true Americans do not like this Mr. Rosenthal said: “the naive politicians in Washington are gullible. Most of them are not too bright so the powerful Jewish lobbyists influenced this practice years ago and there is no one strong enough to stop it. Some of the money is even returned to the United States and spent on Zionist propaganda efforts, much of it through the B’nai B’rith and the Conference of Jewish Organizations and the World Jewish Congress. The Jewish Agency is a funding arm, a sort of body of B’nai B’rith officials. There is nothing wrong with sending American dollars to Israel tax-free so long as we are smart enough to get away with it.

As all geldings in nature, their thoughts are not involved with the concerns of the future and their posterity, but only with the present toil and the next meal,”.

  3. Scott,
The Jerusalem Post and Ynet News are extremely capable of publishing lies and fallacies in defense of Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestine and its illegal wars against its neighbors, and they do.

But, why would Lieutenant-General Gabi Ashkenazi, recent Chief of General Staff of the Israeli military, make the statement that “In the past three years,…US taxpayers have contributed more to the Israeli defense budget than Israeli taxpayers” if it was not absolutely true? If this statement was a falsehood, in what way would it help him or Israel to say it? The majority of funding for that 15 billion must be coming from sources other than the Israeli taxpayers, and more is coming from the American taxpayers than the Israeli taxpayers.

    • @ John, Spot on!

Alison is the person who has trotted out the figures before, She’d be just the person to keep track. Outside of A. Weir Here’s a LINK for Scott Michael (FB commenter above)… We all know about inherent problems with Wikipedia. but, right or wrong, here it is:

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel_%E2%80%93_United_States_relations
      United States aid :

Table 5. Recent U.S. aid to Israel. From a Jan 2, 2008 Congressional Research Service report for Congress titled “U.S. Foreign Aid to Israel.”[52] Please see that report for more years, charts, and detailed financial breakdowns of grants and loans.

See also: United States military aid to Israel.
      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_military_aid_to_Israel

Since the 1970s, Israel has been one of the top recipients of U.S. foreign aid.[53] While it is mostly military aid, in the past a po
rtion was dedicated to economic assistance, but all economic aid to Israel ended in 2007.

In 2007, the United States increased its military aid to Israel by over 25% to an average of $3 billion per year for the following ten year period. The United States ended economic aid to Israel in 2007, due to Israel’s growing economy.[54][55].

In 1998, Israeli, congressional, and Administration officials agreed to reduce U.S. $1.2 billion in Economic Support Funds (ESF) to zero over ten years, while increasing Foreign Military Financing (FMF) from $1.8 billion to $2.4 billion. Separate from the scheduled cuts, there was an extra $200 million in anti-terror assistance, $1.2 billion to implement the Wye agreement, and the supplemental appropriations bill assisted for another $1 billion in FMF for the 2003 fiscal year. For the 2005 fiscal year, Israel received $2.202 billion in FMF, $357 million in ESF, and migration settlement assistance of $50 million. For 2006, the Administration has requested $240 million in ESF and $2.28 billion in FMF. H.R. 3057, passed in the House on June 28, 2005, and in the Senate on July 20, approved these amounts. House and Senate measures also supported $40 million for the settlement of immigrants from the former Soviet Union and plan to bring the remaining Ethiopian Jews to Israel.[citation needed].
Former Vice President Dick Cheney of the United States meets with Minister of Foreign Affairs Tzipi Livni of Israel at the White House.

Israeli press reported that Israel requested $2.25 billion in special aid in a mix of grants and loan guarantees over four years, with one-third to be used to relocate military bases from the Gaza Strip to Israel in the disengagement from the Gaza Strip and the rest to develop the Negev and Galilee regions of Israel and for other purposes, but none to help compensate settlers or for other civilian aspects of the disengagement. An Israeli team has visited Washington to present elements of the request, and preliminary discussions are underway. No formal request has been presented to Congress. In light of the costs inflicted on the United States by Hurricane Katrina, an Israeli delegation intending to discuss the aid canceled a trip to Washington.

Congress has legislated other special provisions regarding aid to Israel. Since the 1980s, ESF and FMF have been provided as all grant cash transfers, not designated for particular projects, transferred as a lump sum in the first month of the fiscal year, instead of in periodic increments. Israel is allowed to spend about one-quarter of the military aid for the procurement in Israel of defense articles and services, including research and development, rather than in the United States. Finally, to help Israel out of its economic slump, the U.S. provided $9 billion in loan guarantees over three years, use of which was extended to 2008.

President Obama’s Fiscal Year 2010 budget proposes $53.8 billion for appropriated international affairs’ programs. From that budget, $5.7 billion is appropriated for foreign military financing, military education, and peacekeeping operations. From that $5.7 billion, $2.8 billion, almost 50% is appropriated for Israel.[56] Israel also has available roughly $3 billion of conditional loan guarantees, with additional funds coming available if Israel meets conditions negotiated at the U.S.-Israel Joint Economic Development Group (JEDG).

In 2010, the House and Senate Appropriations Committees approved President Obama’s request for $3 billion in military aid to Israel in the 2011 budget.[57] The appropriation has not yet been approved by Congress.

Throughout 2009, however, the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs, a Republican think tank, reported that Obama has imposed a virtual arms embargo on Israel. Obama blocked all major Israeli weapons requests, including key projects and upgrades, linking arms sales to progress in the peace process. At the same time, Obama approved $10 billion in arms sales to Arab states, including fighters, missiles, helicopters, and fast attack craft. Israel did not protest, despite reports that its qualitative military edge was being eroded.[58].

But Eli Lake, the national security correspondent of The Washington Times’, reported on September 23, 2011, that Obama had authorized at the beginning of his presidency “significant new aid to the Israeli military that includes the sale of 55 deep-penetrating bombs known as bunker busters”.[59].

Former head of the Israeli Air Force, retired Major General Eitan Ben Eliyahu, has called the American sale of Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II nuclear capable stealth fighter bombers to Israel a key test of the relationship.[60].

  4. One would have to be a brave man to question the facts in this article from Alison Weir, Seldom is she wrong The maths may be able to be questioned, who knows, but it’s the principle that is worth the analysis.

As anyone can tell you, there are a higher number of people in the US on unemployment, recipients of food stamps than ever before other in the great depression. That money that is given to Israel could go a long way to relieving that burden for the US Treasury. As well, it is a figure that can do nothing but increase as the US jobs, for reasons of corporate profits, are all fleeing to China and India, never to return.

So it is obvious to anyone that the monies could be better spent where they were raised; on mainland USA.
It is another aspect of Alison’s article that I now mention as to the propriety of the US in funding Egypt and Jordan in recognition of their support for Israel. Surely, by any measure this is corruption, bribery and just plain dishonest, removing as it does their independence in middle eastern matters.

One can hardly forget the charade in the late days of the US puppet Mubarak as he strode down the red carpet along with Abbas, Ms Clinton, and Netanyahu as the ceremonious commencement of “Peace Talks” with Abbas apparently thinking that Ms Clinton and Mubarak were honest :”independent” brokers, anxious to be fair and honest in reaching a decision.
A touch of Hans Christian Andersen about that scene.. That charade, as obvious as it was to all who have even a modicum of knowledge, pales however, almost into insignificance when compared to the video of the US Congress, jubilant and wildly cheering as it was announced that the US was about to attack Iraq. One will take that sight to one’s grave…the day America lost the last vestige of whatever virtue it had left after Agent orange, napalm, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam or any of the 200 wars it has actioned.

So war is part of US life, has been since day one. That’s why it is opposed, not envied as the buffoon Reagan stated, but because of arrogance, graft, corruption and their support of Apartheid Zionist Israel.

  5. Ben,

You are quite mistaken. What “civilized country” are you speaking of? Israel has been acting immorally and illegally for 63 years. Israel is a rogue state choosing to disregard the international community and act illegally against numerous U.N. Resolutions. The government you choose to ally yourself with has criminally occupied Palestine for the past 45 years.
You are badly mistaken, Ben. How about joining the rest of us and help the world bring peace and justice to the Middle East.

    To quote Dr. William Cook:

“When Israel decides to join the world community in a Nuclear Non-Proliferation Agreement, and places itself in the same position as all mid-eastern states, bereft of weapons of mass destruction, standing with all other nations as free states, free of its military totalitarianism, free to join its neighbors beyond the walls of isolation it has erected to maintain its tribal nature living in constant fear of its true mid-eastern lineage, it might find that the communities of the world would find Israel’s willingness to abide by international law and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights justification to join that state as a friend worthy of world-wide acceptance into the United Nations, not a rogue state sustained by the impunity provided by the unequivocal backing of the US.”
    see: http://www.veteransnewsnow.com/2012/09/18/215191the-wind-and-the-sun/

  6. Half a billion Australian dollars may not be three billion dollars but Australia just donated that amount to Auschwitz. It was a concedntration camp in 1942. What it is now is anybody’s guess.

Now, one could say that such an amount could contribute seriously to school schildren providing their dental care, for assisting the handicapped to have better lives, to contribute to the indigenous people to raise their standard of living or just to feed the poor in this country. But no, we gave it to the Israelis to supposedly maintain another shrine to something that happened seventy years ago in a foreign land in which Australians were not involved, one way or another.

That is now sadly the case in this ‘nanny’ country. Forget the living..

Now if one thinks by reading this article by Alison, on which I have commented above, that such control and subservience is limited to just the US, then think again. How about the use of Israeli drones in Afghanistan, paid for by our Australian Department of Defence? Millions. How about a $300 million contract for Command and Control Systems for the Australian Army awarded to Israeli arms mannufacturer, EBIT? Then there are the appointments of senior Jews to lucrative contracts that affect all Australians; indigenous people and the constitution, national education policies, Chairing the National Broadcasting organisation, the ABC? Then there are the large number of senior public servants and politicans who through the largesse of Israel attend the brainwashing propaganda sessions in Israel, which are called “Leadership Conferences” for want of a better name, which include the visits to the recognised marketing spots of Israel’s achievments, all of which have been achieved at the expense of thousands of Palestinian deaths. And it continues, daily.

We are in the hands of such guileless politicians, subservient to Israel even out here until we have the next election in November 2013 when a slightly lesser subservience will exist and the local Jewry will have to start working on the new government as it has worled on this one, with great success.

One shouldn’t think that the same activities are not in train in all countries where the Israelis can use the holocaust as the vehicle to squeeze out monies, most of which probably end up as military spending. After all, Israel is known as the world’s #2 in military hegemony.

So along with the corrupted US, other countries are just as criminal in their support of Israel’s military crimes, albeit disguised under other names such as Auschwitz ‘donations’, substantial military contracts to Israeli companies and the promotion of local dual-passported Jews to senior highly paid consultancies.

They have become expert at exploitation. For Israel, for fifty years, there have been many ways to skin a cat.

  7. Three billion annually?

The price for military hegemony is never ending.

Currently, as far as one could tell, as there have been a few hours since the last count, the US has 901 bases worldwide. Now if one sees Israel as a de facto US base, which it is, then the spending of $3 billion a year is probably justified. After all, Israel is a friend, doing the US bidding.

Sorry. Re-write required. The US is doing Israel’s bidding and this is the reason for the $3 billion.

    Nearly a mistake.

However, in return, the US gets……….screwed or is it screwed up, which according to the Collins Thesaurus means anxious, apprehensive, confused, edgy, in a mess, keyed up, mixed up, nervous, neurotic, on edge
strung up, tense, uptight, wired, worked up, worried.

Yes, probably all of those things and then some.
But it is worth it for the US because Israel is our friend.
They don’t commit false flag acts, push the US into wars, don’t steal US plans and secrets, don’t spy on military activities, are honest in their actions, never heard of the word ‘neocon’, believe in justice (for Israelis), humane, trustworthy and most of them probably have American passports which means they are loyal, patriotic and possibly will have the AIPAC arrange for all Jews to vote for Romney, is he is still there next month.

If the US has a friend like Israel, who needs enemies. It’s worth $3 billion just to keep them over there.
