- Marine vet has ”skull fracture and swelling of the brain,” reports AmericaBlog. Matt Browner Hamlin reports: And when his friends went to try to help the man, who was now lying still on the ground after having suffered a fractured skull and a swollen brain apparently from the recent police attack, the cops attacked again, throwing an explosive device into the middle of the group helping the fallen man, in order to disperse them. - “Heighten the contradictions” is what activists used to say back in the Sixties. And tonight, while President Obama was in San Francisco hosting a $7,500-a-plate fundraiser, people are getting teargassed in Oakland, just a few miles away – for alleged health and safety violations. You can’t get much more of a contradiction than that.
- It’s being reported that Occupy Atlanta, Occupy Baltimore, Occupy Clarksville, Occupy San Diego have all been served by police with eviction notices for midnight tonight.
- Screams of “medic” amid tear gas and flash-bang grenades last night made clear that peaceful protests and Americans assembling together are assumed by many governmental authorities to be criminal and illegitimate, although gurantees of these very liberties and the exercise of this liberty are endlessly proclaimed to be the backbone of the USA by American politicians.
The video and photos below of a Marine veteran wounded by Oakland police crystallize the fact that the Occupy Wall Street and We Are the 99 Percent movement will have to fight to utilize fundamental constitutional rights.

This poor guy was right behind me when he was hit in the head with a police projectile. He went down hard and did not get up. The bright light in the second shot in the video is from a flash-bang grenade that went off a few feet from us. He was eventually taken to Highland hospital.
The Democratic Underground identifies the man as Veterans for Peace member Scott Olsen.
The BART was closed at 12th Street earlier yesterday after police tear gas began to filter through underground station.

Some may wonder what manner of sick, depraved, culture could create an army that can machine-gun women and children, the Fascist SS or the Stalinist horde for example, well…now you know!

Magical thinking? No just experience and truth.
This is a very clear example of police brutality. The mayor of Oakland needs to ensure the safety of these peaceful protesters, by investigating these video tapes and finding out what officers were throwing objects at the men and women who were clearly bent down aiding a man who was injured by the police. Further more that officer or officers need to be fired, striped of their pensions, and put on trial for brutality. I pray that the few men and women in uniform who are using these peaceful rallies for their sick need to dominate the people are brought to justice before they cause a nation wide riot, and that the deplorable actions of the few do not out shine the amazing job that most of our nations police officers do every day.
